Zone 12 – Upcoming Events, from late summer into fall!
Category : News
It’s hard to believe we’re almost halfway through August, but this year has flown by even faster than last year. I hope you’ve all had opportunities to enjoy the summer, have fun with your friends and family, and that you and your families are healthy and happy.
We have a lot of great events in late summer, into early fall – including Zonefest, hosted by Space Coast, coming up in just a few weeks. And our Zone 12 Club Race and Solo DE at Daytona in October, including nighttime DE sessions this year (see additional details below)!
As with all of our events, the health and safety of our participants is our top priority. We’re constantly monitoring the situation in each area of our Zone. So, if things change, we’ll adjust and adapt accordingly. Perhaps some events will need to be held outside or possibly canceled entirely if the situation calls for that. But hopefully, things will get better, not worse.
With that in mind, here are some great events currently scheduled, all around the Zone.

And of course, don’t forget …
Zone 12’s OktoberFast Club Race, DE and Autocross at Daytona
October 22-24
OktoberFast is our Zone 12 Club Race at Daytona International Speedway – and it’s a lot of fun! As always, we’ll have an Advanced Solo DE and a super-fun Autocross on the infield Kart track. But this year, we’ll also offer a nighttime Solo DE for advanced drivers! Yes, you can feel like you’re driving Rolex, just like the big boys!
All registration will open soon, on ClubRegistration.net: Club Race, Solo DE, Nighttime Solo DE, Autocross, and Volunteers. The DE Team is currently finalizing all the details, but the nighttime DE will be open to all solo DE drivers and Club Racers who are registered for OktoberFast. There will be a separate entry fee for the nighttime events, and cars must have headlights. If you’re a solo DE driver or a racer, please plan to join us and experience the Daytona excitement under the lights!
This year’s OktoberFast will be bigger and better than ever, with the Club Race, Advanced Solo DE, Nighttime Solo DE, Autocross, Charity Track Touring, and a People’s Choice Car Show.
We’ll need more Volunteers than ever, so if you’d like to help out and learn what it’s like to be behind the scenes at Daytona, please plan to be a Volunteer (cool T-shirt included!). We’ll open registration soon, but if you’re interested, please email Ray with any questions: raygrynk2@outlook.com.
This year we’ll offer track touring opportunities on Saturday and Sunday, providing donations to a worthy new charity, Cure SMA, which is dedicated to the treatment and care of spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). SMA is the number one genetic cause of death for infants, and it takes away a person’s ability to walk, eat, or breathe.
Several of our Regions will be planning a drive over to Daytona for the car show, autocross or just to watch the races – check with your leadership team to find out if your Region will be having a group event. Plan to come to Daytona and enjoy all that the weekend has to offer!
With such a variety of events coming up, I hope you can find something of interest to you and your family.
Hope to see you at one of the events this summer or fall!
