Zone 12 News – Zone 12’s PCA National Award Winners recognized at Parade!

Category : News

At this year’s Parade in lovely French Lick, Indiana, some of the most prestigious awards went to Regions in Zone 12! These were all very well-deserved recognition for a lot of hard work and commitment, not only to our Regions’ membership but also to the communities we support. To win these awards at any Parade is a big achievement, but to be recognized during one of the most challenging years we’ve ever experienced is an even bigger accomplishment.

Congratulations to all our Zone 12 participants and winners at Parade, and in particular, our major award winners!

Everglades Region won the 2020 Public Service Award

Congratulations, Everglades, for this well-deserved recognition! This is a major honor, recognizing the Region that best represents the giving spirit of PCA – one winner out of 146 Regions across the US and Canada. The Everglades leadership team, led by President John Petracco, and Everglades members gave back tremendously to the charities and communities in the Region and performed public service all across Florida, all through the year.

In 2017, Everglades started the tradition of the Porsche Parade of Presents to Golisano Children’s Hospital in Fort Myers, with John and Val Petracco’s inspiration and leadership. During 2018 and 2019, the event grew larger and eight other Regions in Zone 12 also had their own similar events, on the same charity weekend in December. By December 2020, in the midst of the covid-19 pandemic, the Everglades Region Parade of Presents featured 153 cars, including more than 100 Porsches. The Region members delivered toys and more than $200,000 in donations to Golisano and the Lee Health Foundation.

Along with a beautiful trophy that was presented at Parade, Everglades will receive $1,500 to help in their ongoing public service efforts.

They were also recognized earlier this year, as Members Making a Difference.

Gold Coast Region was also recognized as the 3rd place recipient in the Public Service category, and the Region will receive $500 to help with their charitable efforts. Great job, Gold Coast! Puerto Rico Region won the Actual Growth Membership Award

The Region leadership worked hard to keep the membership engaged and active, and they grew from 359 primary members in December 2019 to 527 members in Dec 2020 – a 168-member increase, during a very challenging year. Congratulations to Puerto Rico President, Javier Cordero, and all the Region leaders!

Website and Newsletter Awards
