Feb 24 at Sebring: Instructors Needed for the Street Survival School for Teens

Category : News

The Tire Rack Street Survival school (TRSS) starts at about 9 a.m. and goes to about 4 p.m. on Saturday, February 24, at Sebring, in conjunction with Suncoast’s February DE. And they still need instructors – especially you ladies! We really need your help for this one – you don’t have to be a PCA instructor. Please email johnrvita@gmail.com if you’d like to be an instructor for TRSS.

The only requirements for TRSS instructors are that you enjoy working with teens and that you take an online course for certification. You’ll be assigned 2 students that you’ll do in-car instruction with throughout the day. Lunch is provided, and instructors will receive a Suncoast DE certificate for helping out. All of our instructors say it’s an awesome experience, so please come out on February 24 and help make a difference.

About TRSS:
When your teen driver attends a Street Survival school, we teach them to control their car in unpredictable situations based on its handling limits. They master the application of the physics of driving, using their car. They learn how to make good driving decisions and react more quickly. They become more aware and learn how to begin anticipating the actions of other drivers. The Tire Rack Street Survival Teen Driving School, hosted by Suncoast PCA at Sebring International Raceway on Saturday, February 24, 2018 is only $95 per student. Teens must be at least 16 years old with a valid driver’s license. A learner’s permit is not acceptable.

For more information, please go to: www.streetsurvival.org.

Rolex 24 – Thank You PCA Corral Volunteers!

Category : News

Hi, Rolex Volunteers!

I just wanted to say thanks again for giving your time and efforts to make this year’s PCA Corral at the Rolex 24 so efficient, welcoming and fun! So many people came up to us and said thanks for our hospitality and that they really had a great time. You all made Zone 12 look as good as we already know it is, and your help was very much appreciated!

Some of you did multiple shifts – or multiple days! You are all such good representatives of what PCA is all about, and I certainly hope you all had a lot of fun as well. Please, if you notice I left anyone off this chain, pass this along to them as well (I didn’t have everyone’s email).

For next year, we’re considering streamlining the process more to ensure all Regions are less burdened with logistics, so stay tuned for info later this year. And if you have any specific suggestions for improvement, please let me know!

Again – thanks so much for all you do! And I hope to see a lot of you at the Sebring 12 Hours in March (please email me if you’d like to help out at the Porscheplatz)!

I’ll see a lot of you at the Sebring 48 this weekend.

Much appreciation,

Lisa

Welcome to 2018 – and to the busiest first quarter in all of PCA!

Category : News

We’re lucky to have some of the biggest events in the country right in our own backyard. We’ll get to enjoy the routine major events all over Zone 12, as well as some Regional favorites.

Here are a few to add to your calendar:

  • Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona, January 25-28: PCA Car Corral

Celebrate the start of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season with North America’s most prestigious sports car race, and watch some of the biggest names in motorsports! PCA welcomes all PCA members, Porsche owners, and their guests to the PCA Car Corral Hospitality Tent, located trackside infield at “The Kink” (Turn 5). The Corral has been sold out since last summer, but if you’re going to Rolex, please stop by the Corral to socialize and watch the race.

We could use a few volunteers for Friday and for our busy Saturday morning shift at the PCA Corral; if you’d like to help us out, please email me at zone12rep@national.pca.org
