THANK-YOU VOLUNTEERS – we have enough volunteers lined up for the Porsche Platz at Sebring March 17-18.
March is another very busy month for Zone 12…Listed below are some of the major events coming up soon.
March 10 (Friday) Werks Renunion @ Amelia Island. This is shaping up to be a spectacular event with over 600 Porsches on display at the Omni Resort Golf course on Amelia Island. Check the PCA or Werks websites for details.
March 12 (Sunday) Live Oak Invitational car corral hosted by Florida Thoroughbred Region. Attached is the flyer inviting all Zone 12 members to visit our newest region and enjoy the event and car corral at the Live Oak International in Ocala this year. Drive your Porsche…. cost at the entrance is $10.00 and staff will direct you to the Florida Thoroughbred Region corral. March 17-18 Come visit the Porsche Platz at the 12 hours of Sebring race. This year several changes were made to the schedule including, but not limited to, the Porsche-only Parade laps for members that purchased a Platz Corral pass. Cars will start to line up for the Parade laps when the corral opens @ 7:00 am. Please read carefully the attached information on Porsche only Parade laps which start promptly at 8:20, after waiver signing and mandatory safety briefing .Also attached is the most recent draft of the Platz schedule….Please note that events that take place in the tent are in red. Race tickets and possibly corral passes are still available for purchase at the Sebring International Racetrack website. March 25 Suncoast Region invites PCA members to their swap meet and Alegra Motorsport tour @ the Alegra facility in Tampa. Come see the 2017 Rolex 24 hours of Daytona champs, sell some of those used/unused Porsche parts (vendors must pay a $100.00 fully refundable deposit), and socialize with your PCA friends….For more info visit the Suncoast Region website or call Eric Rahenkamp at (813) 294-3098 or eric@rdgroup.org.
May 26-28 ZONEFEST the crown jewel of Zone 12 events. Here is a reminder from the North Florida Region team, who are hosting Zonefest this year over Memorial Day weekend in Tallahassee. Can you believe that it is already March 2nd ?!? That means there are less than 60 days until the cut-off date for the DoubleTree Hotel block of rooms being held for Zonefest 2017 in Tallahassee, FL over Memorial Day weekend this year. So please don’t delay. Make your Hotel reservations now!
And, if you still need to register for Zonefest, please do that now also. The weekend’s program is engineered to provide a fun and exciting experience and its activities reflect the varied interests of PCA members themselves: competition driving, concours showing & judging, automotive mechanical and technical subjects, driving tours, fine dining and, most importantly, sharing the great camaraderie that PCA membership provides!
