February 14th – Valentine’s Day Dinner & Party
Register here: https://
This Valentine’s Day the Space Coast PCA will have its first “inaugural” dinner and party. This is truly a very special night to have with your significant other. Don’t worry about getting reservations for dinner at a fancy restaurant where you either have very early or very late dinner plans because you did not call three months before for reservations and stuck in a table next to the bathroom or kitchen. Well, we have a gala event that you and your significant other will remember, we have a beautiful setting where we are going to have drinks on the expensive stone deck overlooking the ocean, I mean right on the ocean. We will have hors d’oeuvres, a choice of three entries, either Thyme and Rosemary Prime Rib, Herb-Roasted Chicken Breast, Natural Jus or Grilled Mahi with Cajun Shrimp Sauce. The Chef tells me all these are favorites at the restaurant and top it off with your choice of several sides White Wine Pan Roasted Mushrooms, Seasonal Roasted Vegetables, Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Grilled Asparagus with Shaved Parmesan. Remember, this a buffet, tray all if you like. We will top it off with a romantic desert of Chocolate Covered Strawberries. Last but not least, we will have entertainment by one of the best DJ’s in Brevard County Mr. Michael Van Ness who will play those beautiful melodic music of the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s with some Etta James thrown in there. A perfect time to take your special person have a toast on the deck or get down and boogie on the dance floor or wait for that special spooning song that takes you back. You get all of this for $65/pp. You will not find a better deal anywhere or get what you are getting here, come and join us for a night to remember. Of course, we will have door prizes that will make you want to come out just to see what they will be good.
2023 WERKS Reunion Amelia Island at Amelia River Golf Club – March 3
VOLUNTEERS are needed for this event. There are opportunities to volunteer on Thursday March 2 (set up day) and Friday March 4 (event day). If you have never been to a Werks event before, this is a great opportunity to see a breathtaking array of Porsches, from rare to current models and everything in between!!
Do you wonder what you would do as a volunteer? Below are some of the great opportunities that are available for you to help with:
Thursday March 2
Bag Stuffing – this activity is when all the goody bags for the entrants of the judged and corral parking are filled with the “good stuff”. Need at least 12 people.
Signage – we would like to setup and place as many of the event’s signage as possible on Thursday. Need 3 people.
Judged Field setup – laying out or marking the position of the judged Porsches for Friday’s concours.
Corral Field setup – laying out or marking the positions of the Porsches parking in the corral area of the field.
Miscellaneous – there are other tasks that need help setting up.
Friday March 3
Will Call – this is at the entry drive into the Amelia River Golf Club to assist registered entrants who have not picked up their credentials. Will need at least 4 people for different shifts.
Signage – place the remaining event signs out onto the field prior to the event starting time. Need 3 people. And to take them down at the end of the day.
Corral Parking – to check pre-registered Porsches into corral parking and to help park the Porsches in the corral, and hand out the entry goodie bags. This usually takes at least 12 people, (6 at o’dark thirty morning shift and 6 late morning)
Concours – to check pre-registered Porsches onto the judge field and to assist with parking / staging the Porsches. Need as many as we can get, at least 14. Preferably people who can quickly recognize the different classes.
Trophy / Awards Stage – assist with displaying and presentation of trophies to award winners. Need 1 guard person to make sure the trophies don’t get picked up and broken, etc. This is a sitting job!
There are many other roles that need to be filled, including: Help with Spectator Parking, collecting money as people come in and guiding them to the parking area, golf cart drivers to transport people from the parking area to the Judges field, assisting with cleanup by breaking down and repacking of supplies, signs etc.
Please contact Dora Barren, volunteer chairperson – dorabob@comcast.net if you can volunteer for this National PCA event. PLEASE PUT WERKS IN THE HEADING OF THE EMAIL, AS WE GET LOTS OF OTHER EMAILS AND I DON’T WANT TO MISS YOUR EMAIL FOR THE EVENT.
