Happy 4th!! … and here’s some OktoberFast fun to look forward to
Category : News
Hopefully, you’re celebrating the 4th with family and friends, lots of food and fun. Have a safe and happy Birthday for America!
When you’re chillin’ later today, make sure you add some more dates to your fall Zone 12 calendar.
OktoberFast Registration Dates
Please plan to enjoy OktoberFast at Daytona International Speedway, October 26-28. There will be rolling registration dates, starting now. Registration for the Autocross is already open on ClubRegistration.net; the Advanced DE registration will open in mid-July, and the Club Race will open in September.
Autocross Registration is Open
Registration for the OktoberFast Autocross is now open on ClubRegistration.net. It’s your chance to literally be in the middle of all the action of the OktoberFast DE and Club Race as you compete in the AX on the fun and adventurous Kart Track, right at NASCAR Turn 3. After you enjoy each run on the paved kart track, you can just sit back and watch all the cars race by on the Daytona track, while taking it all in with family and friends. Citrus Region will be running the AX, and it will be their 7th AX in the annual series.
It’s open to all makes – so invite your family and friends to come out and compete in this unique autocross. Register now for only $40 (you’ll pay at the event). By pre-registering, you’ll not only get through registration faster at the track, but you’ll also receive a $10 discount.
Driver’s Ed – Opens July 15
Registration for the OktoberFast Advanced Solo DE will open July 15, on ClubRegistration.net. The DE is open to all makes, not just Porsche. We must limit registration to the first 65, so don’t wait to register. Drivers must be qualified as Advanced Solo, which means open passing with a point by, anywhere on the track.
Specifically, drivers must either be a PCA National Instructor, or have achieved Advanced Solo status with their home region and have a minimum of 4 events where PCA Expanded Passing was in use (passing anywhere on the track, including the turns, with a point by). Experience with “expanded passing” with other HPDE organizations (e.g., Chin, Hooked on Driving, etc.) will be acceptable. If you don’t have the requisite experience, please don’t register for this event – and if you’re not sure, please email the Advanced Solo DE Event Chair, Jim Burnett, at 111margaret@att.net, or call him at 904-910-0596.
You’ll have the opportunity to attend the racers’ “chalk talk” given by Cory Friedman of Autometrics on Thursday evening (Oct 25), as an initial exposure to driving Daytona (highly recommended, even if you’ve driven Daytona before).
Please visit ClubRegistration.net to view additional details about the DE, including cost and full requirements, such as safety equipment and minimum tire ratings. Registration will open on July 15th – just search for Zone 12 events.
Club Race – Opens September 10
Registration for the Club Race will open September 10 on ClubRegistration.net. PCA Club Racing is the largest single-marque racing series in the world. OktoberFast will host the Trophy East, Enduro and 944 Cup. To learn more about Club Racing, visit pcaclubracing.org/
